Many leaders are familiar with the models of good leadership. They know how communication should work, how feedback is structured, or how to support change. What is often missing, however, is an awareness of their own impact:

• What signals am I sending out?
• What patterns characterise my leadership behaviour?

The Sound of Leadership^® enhances leadership presence, clarity and effectiveness. The workshop focuses on awareness of impact, resonance and behavioural patterns that shape leadership – particularly in complex and dynamic organisational contexts.

Leadership is not explained. Leadership is experienced.

The Sound of Leadership^® creates a safe space for experience, in which leaders can directly experience their impact.

Music does not serve as entertainment or a metaphor in this context. It is a precise tool.

Participants take on the role of conductors and lead experienced musicians. By using music as a neutral, non-verbal medium, the impact of leadership qualities immediately becomes apparent and provides precise, real-time feedback.

Every gesture, every decision, every form of presence generates an immediate response. This creates something that traditional training programmes rarely facilitate: awareness. And that is precisely where lasting change begins.

Why music?

Music is complex. It consists of patterns. Of repetitions. Of variations. Of tension and resolution. Even the slightest changes alter the effect of a piece of music.

Leadership works in exactly the same way.
Leaders, too, follow patterns – often unconsciously.

They communicate in a certain way.
They make decisions based on familiar routines.

In the workshop, you take on the role of a conductor and lead a professional ensemble.
No prior musical knowledge is required whatsoever!
On the contrary: the less musical experience you have, the more immediately your own leadership impact becomes apparent.

Why The Sound of Leadership^®

The Sound of Leadership^® was created by Florian Schönwiese in 2010 and has been continuously developed ever since in collaboration with Dorothea Schönwiese. It is based on
